Role Overview
We are hiring a highly organized and detail-focused Remote Mitigation Restoration Estimator to support a fast-growing property restoration business. This position is centered on producing accurate, compliant mitigation estimates and helping homes and businesses recover from water, fire, smoke, mold, and emergency mitigation losses. The role requires strong attention to detail, speed, and the ability to work within strict industry and program standards.
Work Arrangement
- Employment type: Full-time, permanent
- Location: Fully remote
- Time zone requirement: Must work on EST hours
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST
- Weekend availability: Needed when required to stay within TPA compliance timelines
- Experience level: 3 to 5 years
- Compensation target: Around $100,000 in first-year combined earnings through base pay, performance bonus, and commissions
- Listed salary range: $90,000 to $100,000 per year
What the Role Involves
In this position, you will review field notes, moisture readings, photographs, sketches, and other job documentation to prepare accurate insurance mitigation estimates. You will serve as the link between field teams, insurance adjusters, and third-party administrators, helping ensure estimates are properly documented, compliant, and approved without delay.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed mitigation estimates for water, fire, smoke, mold, and emergency mitigation work using both Xactimate and Symbility.
- Manage submissions and compliance requirements within major TPA programs such as Alacrity, Sedgwick, Lionsbridge, and Westhill.
- Check field records, sketches, photos, and psychrometric logs to confirm that the scope matches IICRC standards and carrier requirements.
- Track assignment queues every day, including weekends when necessary, to make sure all SLA deadlines are met.
- Communicate with adjusters and TPA reviewers in a professional way to explain estimates, close gaps, and obtain approvals.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of direct experience preparing insurance mitigation estimates in the property restoration field.
- Strong, working expertise in both Xactimate and Symbility; candidates without experience in both platforms will not be considered.
- Practical experience handling TPA programs and understanding their compliance standards and review expectations.
- Ability to work consistently during EST business hours, with flexibility to work weekends when needed.
- Must be able to share 3 to 5 previously approved mitigation estimates during the interview process, with sensitive client information removed.
- Reliable high-speed internet access and a dedicated home office that is quiet and free from distractions.
- Preference for candidates with IICRC certifications such as WRT, ASD, AMRT, and FSRT.
- Additional advantage if you have used restoration job-management tools like Restoration Manager, Dash, or Encircle.
