Role overview
MathWorks operates with a hybrid setup that lets employees divide their time between the office and home. This approach combines the value of face-to-face collaboration with the flexibility of working from home on certain days.
MathWorks uses software such as MATLAB and Simulink to help power advances across healthcare, sustainability, artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, and other engineering and science applications. The Galway site, established in 2016 as the EMEA Shared Sales and Services Center, is a multicultural workplace shaped by the company’s values of inclusion, initiative, teamwork, shared success, and high performance.
In this position, you will contribute to revenue growth by managing renewals and pursuing new opportunities. The role involves maintaining strong customer relationships, meeting engagement and prospecting goals, and working closely with others in a team-selling environment to achieve both personal and shared targets.
Responsibilities
- Support revenue growth by handling customer renewals proactively, reconnecting with dormant customers, finding fresh business opportunities, and helping customers understand licensing choices and consolidation options so renewals are completed on time.
- Spot upsell and cross-sell possibilities and, when needed, work with the broader sales team to move deals through to completion.
- Create accurate quotations, track purchase orders, and sort out any mismatches or issues that arise.
- Keep the sales pipeline organised by maintaining reliable CRM records, using effective territory planning and forecasting, and partnering with sales colleagues on territory and account strategy.
- Take part in local and international initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that strengthen team performance and customer engagement.
Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience, or equivalent experience, including at least 1 year in a customer-facing role.
Additional qualifications
- Between 2 and 4 years of post-university experience, with 1 to 2 years spent in a customer-facing position.
- Fluency in English and fluency in two of the following languages: French, Italian, and Spanish, at C1 level.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent phone etiquette and close attention to detail.
- Strong prioritisation and time-management ability in a fast-moving, process-oriented sales environment.
- Extra language ability is considered an advantage.
What makes you a strong fit
- You are enthusiastic about technology, enjoy software innovation, and want to help accelerate progress in engineering and science.
- You communicate confidently, especially over the phone, and use persuasive written and spoken communication to influence outcomes.
- You can manage multiple priorities, work with urgency, and stay self-driven and resourceful.
- You take a people-first approach, bringing empathy, a positive attitude, and a focus on quality.
- You enjoy sales, influencing others, and contributing to team success, while also bringing strong accuracy, analytical ability, computer skills, and social networking skills.
Work arrangement
This role follows a hybrid model, with staff expected to be in the office at least three days each week.
