Job overview

H&P is seeking a skilled Rigger I to support rig moves by preparing lifting plans and carrying out rigging activities in line with the duties outlined for the role.

Key responsibilities

• Review and confirm lifting arrangements, including load calculations and capacity checks.
• Determine sling size correctly after identifying the load weight.
• Secure loads using the proper center of gravity, choose the right hitch method to control the load, and support critical lifting activities such as tandem lifts, man-basket operations, and other designated lifts.
• Inspect rigging gear thoroughly before use and verify that all equipment is free from defects and used within approved limits.
• Set up and carry out the planned lift so that both the rigging and the load remain protected throughout the operation.
• Plan and execute multi-legged lifts while maintaining the approved D/d ratio for wire rope.
• Plan and perform choker hitch lifts while accounting for sling reduction.
• Calculate sling angle stress accurately.
• Use correct hand signals and radio communication to maintain control of the load.
• Work with bridle and crane load charts while developing lifting plans.
• Use conversion charts to translate between metric and imperial measurements.
• Calculate the area and volume of loads as needed.
• Work cooperatively as both a team member and a leader.
• Communicate clearly and effectively.
• Demonstrate H&P values, including Actively C.A.R.E., Service Attitude, Innovative Spirit, and Teamwork.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Read and understand simple English instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence in English.
• Present information clearly in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, or coworkers.
• Select the tools and equipment required to complete a job.
• Use logic and reasoning to evaluate different solutions and approaches.
• Choose and properly use the equipment, facilities, and materials needed for the work.

Education and certification

• Minimum qualification: high school completion or above.
• Must hold a valid Saudi Aramco-approved Rigger Level 1 certification with at least 6 months remaining validity.

Experience

The role calls for 3 to 5 years of experience, or more depending on the project, in oil and gas, petrochemical, or industrial rigging operations. Familiarity with Saudi Aramco Safety Management System (SMS) and Permit to Work (PTW) procedures is an added plus.

Languages

The candidate should be fluent in both English and Arabic.
