About the Role
The AA is hiring a Roadside Rescue Mechanic to support members when they are stranded or facing vehicle trouble. In this role, you will be the reassuring first point of contact, arriving in all kinds of weather and at any time of day to help drivers get moving again safely.
This position offers an annual salary of £41,976, which includes a location allowance, and total on-target earnings can reach up to £60,000 for top performers.
Working Pattern
This is a patrol role on an average 40-hour working week. A choice of shift patterns is available so you can pick a schedule that better fits your personal and professional needs. Rest days and shift lengths will depend on the pattern selected.
You will start and end your day from home, and you will be paid from the moment you get into your van until the moment you return home.
Key Duties
You will work on your own across different locations and conditions, while still being part of a supportive team. The job calls for practical fault-finding, clear communication, and a calm, solution-focused approach to a wide range of roadside problems. Your aim will be to deliver a positive experience and restore confidence for members and drivers.
What You Need
This role requires a relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience, a full category B driving licence with no more than 6 points, confidence using new technology, and the ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
