About the Property
Mantra Portsea sits in the centre of Port Douglas in Tropical North Queensland, around a one-hour drive north of Cairns CBD. The property features one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, a lagoon-style pool with a pool bar, and an on-site breakfast room. In your downtime, Port Douglas offers plenty to explore, from snorkeling with turtles at the Great Barrier Reef to enjoying the rainforest air and learning about Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander culture and history.
Role Purpose
As a Room Attendant, you will be an important part of the Housekeeping team, helping create a spotless and welcoming experience for every guest. The role calls for strong attention to detail, teamwork, and a genuine willingness to assist guests whenever needed. Your contribution helps ensure guests leave with memorable experiences and a high impression of hospitality.
Pay Details
The base pay is $25.85 per hour from Monday to Friday. Weekend and public holiday rates are higher: Saturday at $32.31 per hour, Sunday at $38.78 per hour, and Public Holidays at $58.16 per hour.
Key Duties
- Clean guest rooms thoroughly, including changing bed linen, sanitizing bathrooms, and wiping down all surfaces to deliver an excellent first impression.
- Follow the property's housekeeping standards and procedures consistently to maintain a high level of quality.
- Keep housekeeping trolleys stocked, tidy, and ready for use.
- Handle cleaning products responsibly and follow safety practices to maintain a secure environment.
- Protect guest privacy and security at all times.
- Report maintenance concerns quickly so issues can be resolved without delay.
Skills and Experience
- Prior work as a cleaner or room attendant would be an advantage.
- Friendly, confident communication style that helps guests and team members feel comfortable.
- Good attention to detail, efficient work habits, and pride in completing tasks well.
- Comfort with physical work, including movement between rooms via internal and external stairs and open walkways.
- Enjoys working with colleagues from different backgrounds.
- Must have reliable transport and be available for varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
