Role Overview

Roots is looking to add a Sales Associate to the store team in Ottawa, Ontario. Reporting to the Store Manager, this position is centered on delivering exceptional customer service and building lasting customer relationships. The aim is to create loyal customers who return over time.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will help deliver the store’s customer-first approach while supporting day-to-day retail operations and presentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Put the customer first and work to strengthen loyalty through every interaction.
• Handle customer concerns at the store level promptly and in a positive, solution-oriented way.
• Work collaboratively with the team to support overall store performance.
• Carry out POS transactions and retail tasks such as processing incoming stock, replenishing merchandise, marking down prices, and maintaining fitting rooms.
• Stay informed about current product and service information.
• Help maintain an attractive sales floor through product placement, restocking, housekeeping, store upkeep, and visual merchandising standards.
• Follow all loss prevention procedures and store policies.

What We're Looking For

• Previous retail experience, ideally in apparel.
• Proven ability to connect with customers and build relationships.
• Working knowledge of retail operations, including store standards, cash handling, and product presentation.
• A self-driven approach with sound judgment in different situations.
• Strong presentation skills in a retail setting.
• A positive, energetic, passionate, and approachable attitude.
• The ability to understand customer needs effectively.
• The ability to gain support for ideas, decisions, actions, products, or services.
