About Malt
Malt is a major European freelance marketplace that links more than 1,000,000 freelancers with over 100,000 companies. Since its launch in 2013, the company has been reshaping the way organisations and independent talent collaborate through a technology-driven, people-first platform.
The business stands out for its international team of 600+ employees across six European countries, a strong commitment to equality and inclusive development, and support from well-known investors such as ISAI, Serena Capital, Eurazeo Growth, Goldman Sachs, and BPI.
Malt’s purpose is to give people greater freedom to work in different ways.
Role overview
You will join the Global SDR team within the Acquisition function and help drive expansion across Europe. In this position, you will be the first contact for prospective clients, playing an important part in opening the sales process. Your focus will be on building and qualifying a strong pipeline through outbound prospecting, while also responding quickly to inbound interest so the Account Executive team receives well-qualified opportunities.
All mission and responsibility lists should be understood as non-exhaustive.
What you will do
- Run high-volume outreach campaigns across several channels, including phone, email, and LinkedIn, to engage prospects that match the ideal customer profile.
- Handle incoming leads promptly from sources such as web forms, demo requests, and events.
- Carry out first-stage discovery conversations and apply a structured qualification approach based on pain, urgency, and fit.
- Present Malt’s value proposition in a clear and convincing way, and manage early-stage objections using the company’s playbooks.
- Keep the CRM accurate by recording all activity and updating opportunity details on time.
- Transfer qualified prospects to Account Executives with complete notes, context from discovery, and clear next steps.
About you
You should ideally have a higher education background, preferably in business, communications, or a similar area. The role also calls for at least one year of experience in an active sales or prospecting environment.
You will need to be comfortable working with CRM systems, ideally Salesforce, as well as multi-channel outreach tools. A resilient, curious mindset and the ability to communicate value effectively in a fast-moving setting are important.
Full fluency in English and native-level German are required.
Hiring process
- Introductory call with Niko, Talent Acquisition Lead, lasting 45 minutes, to discuss your background, goals, and any questions.
- Interview with Celine, Director SDR Global, lasting 45 to 60 minutes, to review your experience and discuss the role in detail.
- A home assignment to be completed and evaluated by Celine and an Account Executive to assess your technical skills.
- Final interview with the Head of the Account Executive team to talk about Malt’s long-term vision.
Benefits and working conditions
The first week includes onboarding in Paris, where new joiners learn about the company culture, products, and services alongside other new employees.
The working model is hybrid, with three days in the office and two days working from home.
Annual leave is 30 days per year.
After three years at Malt, employees receive one month of paid sabbatical leave.
Every employee is granted stock options.
Lunch vouchers are provided at €6.50 per day for 15 days each month.
The office is dog-friendly and located in the centre of Munich/Berlin.
Employees can choose one benefit from the following options: transport reimbursement, gym membership, organic food voucher, or the Rydes Mobility App.
Books related to Malt’s business can be requested and will be ordered without approval steps or extra questions.
