About Ben
Ben is a benefits platform designed to improve outcomes across the employee benefits landscape. Its technology brings employers, employees, brokers, and providers together so the whole ecosystem works more effectively. The company’s purpose is to create a world where people get the support they need to do well at work and in life.
Role overview
As a Senior BDR, you will be responsible for creating pipeline across a defined group of enterprise and strategic accounts. You will work side by side with Strategic AEs to find, engage, and qualify high-value prospects, moving them into SALs and SQOs.
This role is focused on helping large organisations discover Ben at the right point in their journey and guiding them into a thoughtful sales process. You will design and run your own outbound approach across complex accounts with multiple stakeholders, including VP-level and C-suite decision-makers. AI will be a central part of how you research, personalise outreach, prepare for calls, and improve your own performance.
You will also collaborate with Marketing on account-based marketing initiatives and help raise the overall standard of the BDR team by sharing what works and supporting newer team members.
What you will do
- Own outbound prospecting across a defined enterprise account list, targeting stakeholders in Benefits, Reward, HR, and executive leadership.
- Partner with Strategic AEs on account planning, stakeholder mapping, and opportunity progression.
- Conduct qualification calls independently and pass opportunities to AEs with complete and accurate context.
- Work with Marketing on targeted ABM activity for priority accounts.
- Create, test, and refine outbound sequences tailored to different personas and accounts.
- Use AI tools regularly for account research, message development, call preparation, and self-improvement.
- Keep CRM records accurate and use performance data to manage your own output.
- Contribute learnings, workflows, and best practices to the wider team.
What will help you succeed
- Background in enterprise outbound sales within a B2B SaaS business, preferably focused on HR, Reward, or Benefits buyers.
- Proven history of meeting or exceeding pipeline targets, not just activity goals.
- Ability to understand a prospect’s business deeply and uncover meaningful pain points.
- Comfort approaching VP and C-suite stakeholders in multi-threaded accounts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write outreach that earns replies.
- Strong self-direction and the ability to set priorities without heavy management.
- Genuine interest in AI and how it can improve sales performance.
- Ability to build an AI-assisted prospecting workflow and explain where it adds value and where you override it, which would be a plus.
- Strong appetite for feedback, reflection, and ongoing development.
What this role is not
- It is not a fit for someone who needs a strict playbook to follow.
- It is not ideal for someone who prefers simple, high-volume outreach over strategic prospecting.
- It is not suited to someone who struggles to work closely with AEs on shared account strategy.
- It is not right for someone who wants limited growth, as the role includes a clear path toward AAE and AE progression for the right person.
Why join Ben
You will be involved in Ben’s enterprise motion from the start and will have a genuine opportunity to shape how the team develops. For the right person, there is a structured route to AAE and AE. The product is AI-native in a market still dominated by older software, and the buyers are in a period of major change as companies rethink how they support employees.
