Role overview
This 12-month contract is for a Senior Data & Reporting Analyst supporting the Treasury & Payment Solutions Technology team in the Greater Toronto Area. The role is based across Scarborough, Barrie, and First Canadian Place, with a hybrid schedule of two onsite days each week. One onsite day is fixed for the Thursday team meeting, and the second day is flexible. Extension may be possible.
The position focuses on converting complex IT service management and operational information into clear, practical insights that improve service health, operational stability, and decision-making. You will own the development and evolution of enterprise reporting solutions using Power BI, ServiceNow, and other connected data sources, while partnering with technology, operations, and business teams to promote data-led decisions and continuous improvement, including automation and AI-enabled reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Create, enhance, and support Power BI dashboards and reporting tools used to monitor ITSM performance and operational condition.
- Work with ServiceNow data across Incident, Problem, Change, and CMDB modules.
- Bring together information from cloud, infrastructure, application, and operations platforms to produce useful business insights.
- Turn complex datasets into executive-ready visuals, summaries, and recommendations.
- Perform ongoing trend analysis to surface recurring issues, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with stakeholders from business and technology groups to collect needs and rank reporting work.
- Define and uphold reporting standards, KPI structures, governance controls, and data models.
- Maintain accuracy, consistency, documentation, and data integrity across reporting environments.
- Improve reporting efficiency through automation and process optimization, reducing manual work.
- Support cross-functional conversations and help teams make decisions based on data.
Requirements
- At least 5–7+ years of experience in reporting, analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis.
- Minimum 5 years of practical Power BI development experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Power BI dashboard creation, data modelling, DAX, and visual design best practices.
- Experience using ServiceNow ITSM data, including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and CMDB.
- Solid understanding of ITIL principles and service management operations.
- Knowledge of SRE concepts and operational metrics.
- Experience combining and interpreting data from multiple technology platforms.
- Advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to explain complex findings to executive and non-technical audiences.
- Effective stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to lead discussions, work independently, and drive outcomes with little supervision.
- Creative mindset with the confidence to recommend practical, innovative solutions.
- Strong documentation and requirements-gathering capability.
- Comfort handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with close attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Preference for candidates with experience in financial services, banking, or other highly regulated environments.
- Nice to have: exposure to automation and AI-based reporting initiatives.
- Nice to have: experience in Treasury, Payments, or Banking Technology.
- Nice to have: experience with large-scale operational reporting environments.
