Senior Data Scientist

About the Role

This position is for a Senior Data Scientist within the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Algorithmic Decision-Making team. The role sits in a high-energy environment where you will help enterprise clients uncover value from their data using advanced AI and machine learning methods.

You will also contribute to independent statistical research and machine learning projects, with opportunities to shape solutions that address real business problems across multiple domains.

What You Will Do

• Analyze problem statements and independently develop analytical and machine learning solutions.
• Take ownership of solution design while demonstrating proactive thinking and technical leadership.
• Manage stakeholders effectively and coordinate with teams across the organization.
• Lead and guide a team of Data Scientists.
• Identify opportunities where client and company data can be used to solve business challenges.
• Learn new tools, languages, or platforms quickly as needed for the work.
• Design, build, and deliver strong solutions along with clear, useful analysis.
• Carry out research, prototype new ideas, gather data and requirements, define solution scope, and support architecture decisions.
• Advise clients and client-facing teams on advanced statistical and machine learning problems.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to deploy models and track their performance.
• Develop AI/ML solutions for use cases such as customer segmentation and targeting, propensity modeling, churn prediction, lifetime value estimation, forecasting, recommender systems, response modeling for incentives, marketing mix optimization, and price optimization.

Requirements

• 5.6 to 11 years of experience in core Data Science and Machine Learning work.
• Strong command of at least one programming language: R or Python.
• Ability to build efficient solutions for complex problems.
• Solid understanding of data structures and machine learning algorithms.
• Hands-on experience across the full data science lifecycle, including problem scoping, data collection, exploratory analysis, modeling, insights, visualization, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving ability with a structured approach to breaking down challenges.
• Working knowledge of machine learning, probability, statistics, and algorithms.
• Familiarity with methods such as regression, Bayesian techniques, tree-based models, SVM, random forest, XGBoost, time-series modeling, dimensionality reduction, SEM, GLM, GLMM, clustering, and deep learning.
• Experience with emerging areas such as deep learning, NLP, image processing, or recommender systems is preferred.
• Domain exposure in one or more of the following areas is preferred: CPG, BFSI, or Healthcare.
• Comfort working in Linux and using command-line tools such as sed and awk is preferred.
• Good understanding of databases, including RDBMS, NoSQL, and MongoDB, is preferred.

Education

B.E., B.Tech, or M.Tech in Computer Science, a related technical field, or an equivalent qualification.
