About the Role
Mattel is seeking a Senior Media Associate to support marketing and communications initiatives for a portfolio of brands. This role contributes to media planning and strategy across the US and Canada, with a strong focus on analysis, reporting, and data-driven insights. The position works closely with internal teams and external agency partners to help ensure media plans are executed effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Adapt global media strategy into practical plans for the US and Canada, while reviewing partner and tactic recommendations to confirm they stay aligned with overall strategy.
- Oversee media competitive reporting partnerships, including vendors such as MediaRadar and Pathmatics.
- Share quarterly competitive asset reviews and reporting insights with the wider organization to help clarify the market landscape.
- Partner with internal teams across Mattel to support smooth and coordinated media execution.
- Assist in monitoring the agency trafficking workflow across multiple internal groups and outside agency partners.
- Track campaign delivery and optimize plans to help meet performance targets across channels and partners.
- Review media performance data and turn findings into practical recommendations for internal stakeholders.
- Support accurate pacing and delivery by working closely with the Manager or Associate Manager to ensure execution across channels.
- Maintain vendor relationships and organize partner meetings to strengthen media expertise and industry awareness.
- Handle administrative support for advertising memberships such as ANA and Ad Age, including partner communication and distribution of useful resources.
- Coordinate weekly flowchart reviews and look for ways to improve change visibility and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in a media-related role is required.
- Strong interest in media, marketing, and data interpretation is essential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed.
- The role requires strong attention to detail and good organizational habits.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment while handling multiple priorities and partner groups is important.
- Prior billing experience is considered an advantage.
- Experience with media competitive reporting tools such as Vivvix/Numerator, Ad Intel, or Kantar is a plus.
- A growth mindset, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning are valued.
