Job Overview

We are hiring a seasoned Senior Planning Engineer for a full-time onsite role in Qatar. This position is suited to a planning specialist who can steer complex construction programs toward successful delivery through strong scheduling, progress control, forecasting, and coordination.

The role involves working on major developments, partnering with project stakeholders, and contributing to planning and control functions that directly influence project outcomes. Candidates should bring deep experience with Primavera, project monitoring, and large-scale construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

Create, maintain, and regularly revise detailed project schedules in Primavera.
Track project execution against approved timelines and flag any deviations early.
Develop short-term look-ahead plans, recovery strategies, and forward forecasts.
Study project performance to detect schedule slippage, risks, and delay drivers.
Work closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, and clients to keep plans aligned.
Prepare regular planning updates, dashboards, reports, and presentation materials.
Monitor milestones and provide planning input that supports timely decisions.
Contribute to budget tracking and broader project control activities.
Assess resource usage and productivity patterns.
Ensure planning practices follow project specifications and company standards.
Support on-time delivery through disciplined planning and coordination.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
A minimum of 15 years of total relevant experience.
At least 10 years spent as a Planning Lead or Senior Planning Engineer with a contracting organization.
Demonstrated involvement in large capital projects of comparable scale and complexity.
At least 8 years of planning experience in the Arabian Gulf region.
Experience on projects valued at QAR 100 million or more.
Strong command of planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting practices.
Advanced working knowledge of Primavera for scheduling and project controls.
Experience in ISO-certified organizations.
Strong analytical, communication, and coordination abilities.
Excellent written and spoken English.
