Role overview
The Stakeholder Manager will own the coordination and management of relationships with key parties involved in master planning, buildings, and infrastructure assignments during the design phase. The position focuses on creating and executing a stakeholder engagement plan, making sure stakeholders are informed and able to contribute, and keeping project goals aligned with expectations. The role also requires working with government departments, local authorities, environmental bodies, community groups, and other relevant parties to address concerns and requirements, while securing all necessary NOCs, permits, and approvals.
Key responsibilities
- Map and identify the full set of stakeholders, including clients, government departments, local authorities, community groups, and other relevant entities.
- Create and carry out a stakeholder management strategy that supports consistent communication and engagement.
- Spot stakeholder-related risks early and reduce them, while also advising on potential opportunities and threats.
- Prepare regular status updates and tracking reports for the client and internal teams, covering stakeholder risks and opportunities.
- Lead progress through stakeholder meetings and ensure concerns, expectations, and requirements are properly addressed.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering in a relevant discipline such as Civil, Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
- Professional credentials in stakeholder management or a similar area are considered a strong advantage.
- At least 10 years of stakeholder management experience, ideally within master planning and infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of stakeholder management practices, public relations, and applicable industry standards.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to handle several stakeholders at once.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities to assess and manage stakeholder-related risks.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy across stakeholder activities and records.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including the capacity to guide and motivate a team.
- Project management experience, especially on complex workstreams with tight deadlines, is desirable.
