ജോലി വിവരണം
Role overview
This is a full-time livestock agency opportunity based in and around Adelong, Tumut, Gundagai, and the broader Eastern Riverina and Upper Murray region. The work is centred on yards, farms, saleyards, and local community relationships rather than office-based routines. Elders is inviting expressions of interest from people who want to help strengthen its livestock presence across the region.
The role suits people who are already working in livestock, those seeking a stronger platform to progress, or newcomers who want to build a future in livestock and agriculture. Elders continues to invest in regional agriculture and livestock services, and this role is part of that ongoing growth.
Why this region
The Adelong, Tumut and Gundagai area is described as a strong livestock and mixed-farming district with close-knit communities, a strong sporting culture, affordable living, good schools, and room to build both a career and a family life. It also places you within reach of Wagga Wagga, Canberra, the Snowy Mountains and the South Coast. In this region, local reputation, consistency and community contribution matter.
What the role involves
Day-to-day work is varied and may begin early in the saleyards, continue with on-farm client visits, and finish with discussions around marketing options and buyer relationships. You will work with customers, processors, buyers and other stakeholders while representing a major agribusiness brand with strong local support.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both current and prospective livestock clients
- Identify and pursue livestock marketing opportunities throughout the region
- Offer practical and trusted advice to producers
- Work closely with buyers, processors and other industry participants
- Support livestock sales, auctions and on-property transactions
- Take part in local industry and community activities
- Build your own profile, network and standing within the region
What the employer is seeking
The ideal person may already be an experienced livestock agent or may be someone aiming to build a long-term career in the industry. The key requirement is a genuine ability to connect with people, earn trust, and contribute positively to rural communities and the wider branch team.
- Confidence in building relationships and earning trust
- Enjoyment of working with producers and rural communities
- A strong work ethic and commercial awareness
- Personal and professional drive to keep developing
- Willingness to contribute across the broader Elders branch network
- Negotiation skills, or the ability to develop them, to connect buyers and sellers
- Interest in livestock and agriculture
- Holding a Livestock Auctioneer Licence and Assessor Accreditation, or a willingness to complete free training through Elders
