About Point Care
Point Care focuses on improving the day-to-day lives of people with disability through individualized, high-quality assistance that follows the NDIS framework.
Role Overview
As a Support Worker, you will help clients carry out their NDIS plans while encouraging independence, safety, and general well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver support that aligns with each client’s NDIS goals and individual support plan.
- Assist with personal care and everyday activities such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming.
- Help clients travel to appointments and participate in community outings.
- Provide respite support when clients and their families need temporary relief.
- Keep client care documentation and progress updates accurate and current.
- Communicate clearly with clients, families, and the wider care team.
- Follow workplace health, safety, and duty-of-care procedures at all times.
- Continue building your knowledge through professional development and NDIS best-practice learning.
Requirements
- At least a high school certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, preferably in Disability, Aged Care, or a similar area, or a willingness to work toward it.
- Previous lived experience and/or paid experience supporting people with disability.
- Availability for day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekend work.
- Good understanding of the NDIS and its Practice Standards.
- Working knowledge of health and safety rules and duty-of-care responsibilities.
- Ability to work respectfully with clients from varied cultural and communication backgrounds and with different support needs.
- Basic care capability, including first aid or a commitment to obtain it.
- Competence with computers, Microsoft Office, and basic digital tools.
