Role Overview

The Teaching Assistant will support the school’s mission and vision by helping deliver excellent international education. The role focuses on working closely with an individual child and supporting teachers to improve learning outcomes, maintain a productive classroom environment, and strengthen the child’s academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

The Teaching Assistant will work with teachers to help the child reach strong academic standards, make the most of teaching and learning time, and develop skills across the curriculum. The role also involves assessing progress, recognising individual needs, setting ambitious but suitable targets, and supporting positive behaviour and classroom discipline.

In addition, the TA will help create an orderly and encouraging learning space, present tasks and curriculum content in an engaging way, and work with children both one-to-one and in small groups. Clear communication with children is essential, as is the ability to manage time effectively for both the assistant and the child.

The position also includes supporting the use of computers and other learning tools, helping the child read assigned texts and worksheets, assisting with organising written work, and explaining tasks clearly so the child understands what is expected.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will be educated to degree level, or hold an equivalent qualification, and have experience in learning support or a similar position. Strong written and spoken English is required. Preference is given to candidates under husband or family sponsorship.
