Role overview

This position is for a Testing Manager who will take ownership of test architecture and test management across several projects. The role requires strong technical and functional judgment, the ability to influence QA direction, and hands-on contribution to planning, scope definition, automation, execution, and quality reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead test architecture and test management activities across multiple testing initiatives.
• Support QA leadership by owning strategic testing initiatives and helping shape future testing capabilities.
• Apply domain knowledge and industry practices to improve testing quality and introduce better methods and tools.
• Contribute to test design, test scope definition, automation strategy, and quality metrics.
• Provide functional and technical input into tools and approaches that improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support impact analysis, estimation, planning, and test model creation based on user stories.
• Facilitate risk assessment workshops and help secure sign-off on the test scope for the project or programme.
• Plan and run tests using both automation and manual techniques, aligned to the agreed test strategy.
• Review defects, work with development teams to share detailed findings, and help drive issue resolution.
• Assess integrated environment dependencies and call out risks to the programme team.
• Define the environment and test data approach for the project or programme.
• Create test scenarios, scripts, data sheets, and sample data to support test execution.
• Drive test automation, including strategy, tool selection, and implementation within the programme.
• Mentor and train test analysts on tools, techniques, and testing methodologies.
• Understand systems architecture and the test environment landscape, and share this understanding with the wider team.
• Escalate issues in a timely manner to the Delivery Head and propose practical resolution options.
• Work closely with stakeholders such as Test Leads, Test Architects, Business Analysts, Technical Leads, Solution Architects, and Solution Designers.
• Use strong judgment and analytical skills to resolve complex technical and functional issues across the end-to-end testing landscape.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with regulatory requirements, enterprise risk frameworks, and internal policies and standards.

Skills and experience required

• Strong hands-on expertise in XML, ePub, eBooks, and digital/mobile book formats such as iPad Books, Android Books, and Mobile Books.
• Solid knowledge of test architecture, test strategy, test management, and automation strategy.
• Practical experience with Selenium, Java, Jenkins, J2EE, web services, APIs, JSON, and XML.
• Exposure to API testing tools and environments such as Parasoft or SoaTest.
• Familiarity with middleware and enterprise platforms such as MQ, WebSphere, UNIX, and third-party API hosting platforms.
• Understanding of data warehouse and ETL ecosystems including Informatica, Ab Initio, Oracle, and Hadoop.
• Experience in assessment, eBook, LMS, and K-12 domains, ideally with core learning product platforms or systems.
• Ability to work independently through the full testing lifecycle.
• Experience managing multiple projects of six months or longer with global teams.
• Experience participating in interviews and hiring for technical roles.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Overall experience of 18 to 22 years in technology-related roles, including relevant technical architect experience.

This role requires the ability to contribute at a senior level in a collaborative QA environment, balancing technical depth, leadership, risk awareness, and delivery focus.

Compensation

The offered annual compensation is INR 25,00,000 to INR 32,50,000.
