Training & Standards Manager - Entertainment Technical

About the Role

Disney Cruise Line is seeking a Training and Standards Manager to help deliver entertainment experiences that feel seamless, safe, and distinctly Disney. In this role, you will combine operational discipline with training expertise to build, improve, and maintain the standards, processes, and programs that support consistently high-quality guest experiences across assigned business areas, ships, island destinations, and site locations. You will serve as the main training contact for your assigned area and work within a collaborative, diverse, and supportive environment focused on excellence, safety, and continuous growth.

What You'll Do

• Own complex projects related to building or updating training programs, learning materials, and audit checklists.
• Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and final outcomes for training initiatives.
• Act as the entertainment operations representative when working with partner teams on cross-functional projects.
• Serve as the go-to expert for training content, documentation, delivery methods, and sign-off processes.
• Improve training standards, systems, and operating processes through ongoing review and refinement.
• Create and maintain documentation practices that ensure required training is recorded, especially for regulatory and safety topics.
• Help align standards across entertainment teams, sites, and company-wide best practices.
• Use a broad operational perspective to recommend improvements based on experience, learnings, and changing business needs.
• Work with the team to design, launch, and sustain quality and safety standards for Entertainment Operations.
• Define performance measures and review them regularly to maintain quality across all offerings.
• Conduct audits and inspections to spot gaps and identify improvement opportunities.
• Partner with leaders to apply corrective actions and support continuous improvement.
• Analyze training needs and design role-specific training programs.
• Use interactive and engaging learning approaches that strengthen retention and skill development.
• Deliver training to cast members both onboard and at shore-side private destinations when needed.
• Maintain strong working relationships with assigned business teams and sites.
• Act as the main contact for Service Excellence Trainers at assigned locations by sharing updates, solving issues, answering questions, and helping keep training delivery consistent and compliant.
• Manage incoming requests from assigned business lines and sites, prioritizing them effectively.
• Build trusted partnerships by balancing business understanding, creativity, and strong interpersonal skills.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, ideally in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Instructional Design, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in entertainment, hospitality, or tourism, with solid exposure to operational processes, standardization, and training development.
• Prior experience in training delivery or facilitation is needed.
• Proven ability to lead complex, collaborative projects while managing deadlines and delivering results.
• Strong capability in creating and maintaining detailed process documentation.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities for cross-functional work.
• Well-developed training and development skills, including the ability to design and present engaging learning experiences.
• Ability to perform audits and inspections and confirm adherence to standards.
• Comfort working with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint, plus familiarity with tools such as DLearn and Articulate.

Preferred Experience

• Background in the cruise industry or a similar environment is preferred.
• Experience working in a shipboard setting, especially in entertainment operations, is an advantage.
• Direct exposure to entertainment-related areas such as Attractions, Port Adventures, Recreation, Youth Activities, Family & Adult Activities, or Entertainment Technical is strongly valued.

Compensation and Benefits

The hiring range for this position in Celebration, Florida is $91,000 to $121,900 per year. The actual base salary may vary based on internal equity, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, the compensation package may include a bonus and/or long-term incentive units, along with a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the level of the role.
