Transportation Supervisor

Role overview

The Transportation Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day transport activity in Jeddah. The role focuses on keeping deliveries and trips running on schedule, ensuring drivers and vehicles are managed effectively, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily fleet activity, driver coordination, and transport operations.
• Allocate trips and driving assignments according to priority and planned schedules.
• Track driver adherence to loading instructions, delivery timelines, and approved routes.
• Confirm that vehicles are fit for use, including maintenance status, cleanliness, registration, and insurance validity.
• Work closely with operations, warehouse, and customer service teams to keep transportation flows smooth.
• Quickly address delays and operational disruptions, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Keep an eye on fuel usage, traffic fines, vehicle failures, and driver conduct.
• Compile daily and weekly updates covering transport performance, trips, incidents, and operating expenses.
• Make sure drivers follow safety practices, traffic laws, and company procedures.
• Contribute to route improvement efforts aimed at increasing efficiency and lowering costs.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with the maintenance team or external service providers.
• Coach new drivers and monitor their on-the-job performance.
• Maintain complete and accurate records for vehicles, drivers, trips, and related documentation.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics, including supervisory exposure.
• Solid understanding of fleet control, route planning, and driver management.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, along with GPS tracking tools.
• Strong familiarity with transportation, safety, and traffic rules in Saudi Arabia.
