About the role
This position sits within the Platforms & Devices Vendor Management Office team and focuses on turning operational data into practical recommendations and action plans. The role supports supplier programs that drive cost optimization, stronger vendor performance, and broader transformation across operations.
You will act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, helping improve supplier relationships and increase operational efficiency for the P&D Product Area. The work calls for someone who is comfortable in a fast-moving environment, can make independent decisions, and is ready to coordinate across multiple teams and priorities. The role also requires flexibility to support global collaboration during some night hours, including availability during early US working hours.
The Platforms and Devices organization spans Google’s computing software platforms across desktop, mobile, and applications, along with first-party devices and services that combine AI, software, and hardware to create more seamless user experiences.
Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in operations or business management together with vendor management.
- At least 5 years of experience using analytics or project management tools to solve business problems.
Preferred qualifications
- Project management certifications such as PMP or Six Sigma.
- Working knowledge of operational expenditure, budgeting, and cost-saving drivers.
- The ability to design and improve processes of different levels of complexity, supported by strong business process expertise.
- Excellent customer focus, structured problem-solving ability, and strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Spot opportunities to move less mature workflows into more established operating models and define metrics for quality, cost, and efficiency.
- Partner with internal teams to gather business needs, launch new processes, and drive continuous improvement.
- Improve operating efficiency, support savings, and ensure vendor SLAs are consistently achieved.
- Build processes and workflows that improve efficiency through centralized execution.
- Contribute to operational planning, support vendor selection and negotiation, assist with onboarding, and help shape vendor operations strategy.
