About the role
Sandvik Mining & Construction Tanzania Limited is seeking a proactive Warehouse Supervisor to join its team at a customer site in Tanzania. The position focuses on supporting site operations and coordinating other team members within a Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) environment. The role reports to the Warehouse Operations Manager and is based onsite in Kahama, Shinyanga Region.
The purpose of this position is to oversee warehouse operations, support accurate inventory control, and ensure the timely and efficient movement of goods. The role also contributes to customer satisfaction by maintaining strong internal and external relationships, managing parts and consumables, and driving ongoing improvements in warehouse performance.
In addition to warehouse supervision, this role supports stock planning and helps improve the customer’s productivity, reliability, and profitability by identifying opportunities to strengthen parts and services delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Lead periodic cycle counts and keep accurate records of materials and supplies stored on site.
- Confirm that the warehouse receives the correct quantities of spares and tools.
- Check incoming goods for damage, incorrect items, shortages, and over-deliveries through regular audits.
- Make sure received items are entered correctly into the system and assigned to the right locations.
- Ensure replenishable stock is stored in the proper bin locations.
- Oversee the receipt, storage, dispatch, and reporting of materials in line with established procedures.
- Support customer productivity and reliability by ensuring parts are delivered from the warehouse in a timely manner.
- Work with relevant stakeholders on inventory control improvement initiatives.
- Monitor stock movement activities, including receiving, dispatch, and returns, on an ongoing basis.
- Help improve customer experience and fill rate for the standard parts assortment in the assigned stockroom.
- Coordinate inventory-related improvement actions with the Warehouse Operations Manager at the VMI site.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality management.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline from a recognized institution and have at least 3 years of experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain operations. Experience with ERP systems such as Aurora is required. Prior exposure to customer queries and complaint handling is also important. Experience in the mining sector or similar industries will be an added advantage.

This role requires strong English communication, solid numerical ability, excellent attention to detail, and a practical, self-driven working style. The successful candidate should be adaptable, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative.
Additional requirements
Applicants must be physically and medically fit to work in a mining environment, including meeting any customer vaccination requirements.
