Role overview

The National Support Office in East Tamaki is seeking an energetic Assistant Accountant to join its finance team. What you will do

In this position, you will support month-end processing, reporting, and day-to-day finance operations. You will work alongside colleagues across the business, giving you broad exposure and helping you build a solid technical base while learning and growing in the role.

  • Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing journals and completing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support the wider finance function through journal work, invoicing, reconciliation preparation, and variance analysis.
  • Review stocktake results, investigate differences, and identify opportunities to improve controls.
  • Contribute to manufacturing accounting tasks when needed, including back-costing and invoicing.
  • Prepare accurate and timely standard reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Help with finance and head office administration as required.
  • Take part in ad hoc finance projects, reporting tasks, and compliance-related work.

About you

You are a confident finance professional who enjoys solving problems and working in a fast-moving environment. Ideally, you will already have experience in an Assistant Accountant role or a similar position, preferably within a medium to large organisation or a high-volume setting.

Additional requirements and attributes
