Associate Dentist - NHS

Role overview

City Quay Dental Clinic in Dundee is seeking an Associate Dentist to join a busy NHS practice with a well-established patient list and strong demand for appointments.

Working pattern and start date

• The intended start is May 2026, with some flexibility available.
• The role runs across Monday to Saturday.
• This position offers access to an NHS patient base with strong earning potential.
• Clinicians will have scope to work with professional independence within a supportive team.

What you will do

• Provide high-quality NHS dental treatment to patients across all age groups.
• Keep clinical notes complete and accurate, and explain treatment choices clearly to patients.
• Work closely with hygienists, therapists, and the broader dental team.
• Adhere to clinical governance requirements and infection prevention and control procedures.
• Carry out radiography and diagnostic work with confidence.
• Take part in audits, team meetings, and ongoing service improvement activities.

Essential criteria

• A BDS degree or an equivalent recognised qualification is required.
• You must be registered with the General Dental Council.
• Previous NHS dentistry experience, along with working knowledge of NHS systems, is necessary.

Desirable experience

• Postgraduate interest in prosthodontics, endodontics, or periodontics would be an advantage.
• Interest in supporting and mentoring junior clinicians is desirable.
• Familiarity with intraoral scanning, including Trios Move+ scanners, is preferred.
