Role Overview
The Associate Project Manager will help drive the delivery of IT and business transformation initiatives. This position supports the planning, execution, monitoring, and governance of projects, and works alongside Project Managers and the PMO to keep work moving on time, within budget, and aligned with required standards. The role also focuses on clear coordination across stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to completing projects according to the approved schedule, scope, and budget.
- Assist with project planning, timeline creation, progress tracking, and reporting.
- Keep an eye on delivery progress and help uphold governance and control processes.
- Support the handling of risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
- Produce and update project records, status updates, and governance documentation.
- Coordinate work across business teams, technology teams, and external vendors.
- Help maintain compliance with internal governance, regulatory, and audit expectations.
- Support readiness for testing phases such as SIT and UAT, along with deployment and go-live planning.
- Assist with post-implementation assessment and project wrap-up activities.
- Raise delivery risks, issues, and blockers to the Project Manager when needed.
Skills and Experience
- Solid grasp of project planning, coordination, and delivery methods.
- Background supporting projects in banking, financial services, or similarly regulated environments.
- Understanding of governance, scope control, risk handling, and issue tracking.
- Exposure to Agile, Waterfall, or blended delivery models.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as MS Project, Jira, Planview, or comparable systems.
- Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder coordination abilities.
- Comfort working across several priorities in a busy, fast-moving setting.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related field is required.
The role typically needs around 3 to 5 years of experience in project management or project coordination, ideally in banking or financial services.
