About the role

This is a practical, hands-on bookkeeping position based in Ipswich, reporting directly to the General Manager. You will take responsibility for the everyday finance function while also assisting with broader administrative and operational tasks. The role offers scope, independence and exposure to different parts of the business within a small, close-knit team.

The employer is open to flexible working arrangements, including a hybrid setup with up to 2 days working from home, flexible start and finish times, and part-time hours for the right person.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and debt collection follow-up
  • Run weekly payroll through MYOB
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and prepare monthly journal entries
  • Keep the general ledger and chart of accounts up to date
  • Assist with cash flow oversight and general financial administration
  • Support insurance administration, claims processing and asset register updates
  • Answer finance-related questions and provide support across office operations

About you

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in bookkeeping or a senior accounts role and feel comfortable working in a busy, hands-on environment alongside operational and production teams. You should be organised, dependable and proactive, with strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.

Experience with MYOB is important, and familiarity with ERP systems such as Odoo would be a strong advantage. Solid Excel capability, confidence with payroll, reconciliations, journals, AP/AR and stakeholder communication are all essential to succeed in this role.
