Role overview
The Business Analyst works with business stakeholders and end users to uncover needs, map out business workflows, and document requirements. This role supports process design, operational improvement, and every stage of the software development lifecycle. The position calls for someone who can connect detailed business and operational needs with audit controls, then help translate them into practical process solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with department managers and end users to identify business challenges, process improvement opportunities, and functional requirements.
- Partner with the Project Management Office on planning, execution, schedules, and budget tracking.
- Assess ways to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs across business processes.
- Lead team discussions when needed and document meeting notes, action items, and issue follow-up through resolution.
- Develop subject-matter expertise across operational and functional workflows and understand end-to-end handoffs.
- Support the creation of training resources, quick-reference handouts, and desktop procedures when required.
- Stay current through workshops, product updates, vendor conferences, and training sessions.
- Coordinate tasks, assign work, and track progress across project teams.
- Prepare project charters, requirements documents, process models, and user manuals.
- Build reports, dashboards, and visual summaries to communicate results and insights.
- Manage application features, PMO calendars, business process inventories, and backlogs to support strategic deadlines and roadmap priorities.
- Monitor issues, risks, and deviations, escalating concerns when appropriate.
- Maintain a complete and organized repository of project documentation.
- Confirm that all required project records are collected and retained at each gate checkpoint.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in business systems analysis, using structured methods to evaluate, document, and improve business and system workflows.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in project coordination, project support, or administrative work.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a fast-paced Agile environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, MS Visio, collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Teams, Co-pilot, generative AI, and project management tools or methods such as Smartsheet, Asana, or MS Project.
- Project management certification such as CAPM, PMP, or an equivalent credential is considered an advantage.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic setting, think creatively, work independently, and manage several priorities at once.

This role requires hands-on coordination with audit controls and process solutions, along with the ability to support documentation, reporting, and cross-functional project delivery.
Work environment
The position is based onsite in New Jersey, United States.
