Role Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for managing local and international corporate accounts as well as individual and group travel opportunities for the hotel. Working under the Director of Sales and the Director of Business Development, this role supports the execution of the hotel’s sales and marketing action plans and helps drive business growth across assigned market segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and capture upselling opportunities whenever possible.
  • Create and implement business development plans that support long-term and profitable growth across rooms and all other revenue-generating areas.
  • Maintain strong visibility for the hotel in the target market through face-to-face selling, phone outreach, fax, and written correspondence.
  • Apply the hotel’s sales policies and operating procedures, as well as those of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
  • Build productive relationships across hotel departments and ensure sales initiatives align with guest and customer expectations.
  • Keep open communication and strong teamwork with the sales group and related marketing teams such as Events Management, Communications, and Reservations to support the hotel’s overall sales goals.
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism and comply with the hotel’s established rules, guidelines, and service standards.
