Role overview

The Centre Principal is tasked with steering Porsche Centre Reading in line with Porsche Retail Group’s strategic direction. The role combines leadership, operational control and team development to deliver an outstanding customer experience and strong showroom results.

Key responsibilities

Act as a Certified Individual under the Senior Managers Certification Regime and be listed in the FCA Directory.
Deliver performance across sales, aftersales, finance, insurance, profitability and customer satisfaction targets.
Build and sustain a customer-first culture across the centre.
Lead a high-performing team, with a clear focus on development, engagement and retention.
Maintain strong controls, risk oversight and ethical compliance throughout all areas of the business.
Take ownership of the strategy plan for Porsche Centre Reading and ensure it is executed effectively.
Drive achievement of agreed and budgeted commercial objectives.
Remain accountable for customer loyalty, satisfaction and the overall success of the centre.
Shape and strengthen the centre’s culture in a positive and lasting way.
Spot opportunities for improvement across functions and within Porsche Retail Group.
Work closely with PCGB and other key stakeholders to unlock business opportunities.
Monitor performance consistently and encourage continuous improvement across the centre.
Review and refine processes regularly to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Coach and develop the management team to improve capability and effectiveness.

Requirements

Substantial senior leadership or dealership management experience in a premium or luxury setting.
Broad background with a luxury or prestige automotive brand.
Proven record of meeting commercial targets and shaping successful marketing approaches.
Strong understanding of the expectations and behaviour of high-net-worth customers.
Ability to lead, inspire and manage strong sales and service teams.
Confidence in building a collaborative, performance-focused culture while handling conflict and developing employees.
Ability to position a luxury brand effectively and design a bespoke customer experience.
Skilled in negotiating high-value deals with affluent clients.
Experience with CRM tools and long-term customer retention strategies.
Good knowledge of showroom operations, stock control and aftersales processes.
Personal qualities suited to luxury retail, including confidence, credibility, commercial awareness, enthusiasm for premium automotive, and the ability to build trust.

Centre information

Porsche Centre Reading is the first Destination Porsche centre in the UK and is located next to Porsche Cars GB. The site sits just off junction 12 of the M4, beside a retail park, gym, petrol station and major furniture retailers. Staff benefit from a heavily subsidised restaurant serving breakfast and lunch, a barista bar, and free on-site parking.
