About the opportunity

Our Christchurch-based client, UniMed, is a major health insurance provider currently investing in a broad modernisation programme designed to improve the experience of its members and employees.

A key part of this transformation is the migration of Policy Administration Systems (PAS), along with associated API work.

We are looking for an experienced Change Manager to take ownership of change delivery end to end for UniMed. The goal is to make sure affected teams are involved early, prepared, trained, and supported so that new ways of working are adopted successfully and sustained.

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will work closely with programme leadership, business subject matter experts, and technology teams to deliver practical and high-quality change outcomes quickly.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate how the change will affect the organisation, then turn those findings into a clear and ordered set of actions.
  • Build and execute the change strategy and combined change plan for the PAS migration and related API impacts.
  • Own stakeholder mapping, engagement, and readiness planning across the business.
  • Drive business readiness, adoption, and realisation of expected benefits.
  • Develop communication materials and deliver them through the right messages, channels, timing, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Coordinate the training plan and supporting learning materials.
  • Monitor change-related risks, issues, and dependencies, and provide concise programme reporting.
  • Measure adoption and readiness, then refine plans to improve engagement and outcomes.

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience delivering change within complex technology programmes.
  • Comfort working with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Strong communication and facilitation abilities, with the confidence to influence at different levels of an organisation.
  • A hands-on, delivery-oriented mindset and strong attention to detail.

Why this role stands out

  • This is a core programme of work and sits within a wider transformation effort aligned to a three-year strategy.
  • UniMed’s purpose is to help New Zealanders maintain lifelong good health.
  • The role has clear backing from senior leadership, including the Program Manager and Head of PMO & Change Management.
  • You will work closely with people leaders and the executive leadership team across the wider business.
  • This is a chance to make a meaningful impact in a New Zealand organisation by owning adoption outcomes.
