About the organization
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a leading biomedical and hospital research centre based in Montreal, Quebec. It serves as the research arm of the MUHC, is affiliated with McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine, and receives partial support from the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS). The institute is focused on scientific discovery and innovation in patient-centered medicine.
Role overview
This position sits within the Allergy & Immunology program, specifically the Eosinophilic Esophagitis Clinic. The successful candidate will support clinical research activities related to allergy, with a strong emphasis on eosinophilic esophagitis. The role requires careful document handling, data management, and close coordination with research staff, EoE physicians, and allergy nurses across different study protocols.
Core duties
- Enter and manage study data accurately.
- Track patient follow-up and keep records current.
- Prepare and complete source documentation.
- Identify possible participants and obtain informed consent.
- Administer and complete patient questionnaires.
- Review patient charts for study-related information.
- Work with team members and sponsor representatives when needed.
- Communicate with patients and family members as required.
- Follow Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards at all times.
- Keep required training current.
- Handle additional related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Education and experience
A Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Health Science is required. A Bachelor of Science in Health Science is considered an asset. Previous research experience is also viewed favorably.
Skills and qualifications
The role requires French language ability, along with strong oral and written English since the job involves regular and detailed communication with researchers or international students who work exclusively in English. The candidate should also bring strong communication and interpersonal abilities, be comfortable working independently or in a team with limited supervision, and demonstrate diplomacy, discretion, sound judgment, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Working conditions
This is a temporary, full-time position with a 35-hour workweek. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The work location is MGH, 1650 Cedar Ave., and the role is hybrid.
