Creative Head

About the Role

Cult Sport is looking for an imaginative and forward-thinking Design Head to steer its footwear design vertical. This role focuses on shaping the design roadmap for the category, turning brand direction into market-ready products, and working closely with multiple teams to deliver cohesive collections.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the seasonal design vision by defining themes, color directions, and material narratives that reflect brand positioning and consumer demand.
• Own the end-to-end creation of footwear ranges, from initial concepts and sketches through to final prototypes.
• Use trend sources such as WGSN, competitor research, and forecasting tools to develop collections that stay relevant and commercially strong.
• Partner with marketing, content, and product development teams to maintain design consistency and brand storytelling across all customer touchpoints.
• Supervise the preparation of 2D CADs and detailed tech packs for sampling and production.
• Stay hands-on with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and similar design software to support ideation, visualization, and presentation needs.
• Work with factories, vendors, and sampling teams to drive timely prototype creation and commercial sample development.
• Lead, guide, and develop a small design team while encouraging creativity and strong execution.

Skills and Experience

The position calls for deep footwear design expertise, a strong sense of trends, and the ability to balance creativity with execution. A strong portfolio demonstrating the full footwear design process is expected, along with practical knowledge of construction, materials, and fit. The role also requires confident communication, solid project management, and proven leadership capability.

Eligibility

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Footwear Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline, and bring 8–10 years of experience in footwear design, including at least 2 years in a senior leadership capacity.
