Customer Delivery Driver/Picker

Role overview

This full-time position is based on 40 hours each week, scheduled across any 5 days out of 6 and including bank holidays. The role combines customer-facing delivery work with order picking duties in a frozen coldstore. As a delivery driver, you will represent the business directly to customers and help provide a service that is friendly, dependable and memorable.

You will be delivering frozen Wiltshire Farm Foods meals to customers’ homes, often to elderly people, their relatives, and healthcare professionals. The job also involves working in a coldstore maintained at -20ºC, where suitable protective clothing will be supplied. Warming breaks and hot drinks will be available when needed.

Key duties

• Deliver frozen meals to customers promptly and efficiently.
• Pick orders within the coldstore environment.
• Use the mobile app to keep delivery information up to date.
• Provide a high standard of customer service at every interaction.
• Complete pre-shift checks on the vehicle before starting work.
• Drive legally, safely and responsibly at all times.
• Clean and refuel the vehicle whenever necessary.
• Keep the office informed about delays, discrepancies or other issues.
• Protect customer privacy and handle information confidentially.
• Support the office and picking teams whenever help is needed.
• Raise concerns related to health and safety, stock condition or vehicle/mechanical problems.
• Step in for colleagues when they are absent or on leave.
• Take part in local marketing activity such as leaflet drops and visits to sheltered housing to help attract new customers.

Working conditions and additional information

This role requires regular teamwork across departments, with flexibility to move between teams where needed. Because the job involves visiting elderly and vulnerable customers, it is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires a basic DBS check.

All employment offers are subject to a driving assessment, licence verification and a basic DBS check. This role cannot be sponsored under the Skilled Worker route because it does not meet the UK Immigration Rules requirements.

The role pays £13.45 per hour, plus bonus and company benefits.
