Role Overview
This position sits within the IT function and focuses on supporting the buildout, administration, and automation of a bordereaux management platform. The role is centered on improving data accuracy, expanding reporting capabilities, and enabling integrations across underwriting, finance, and policy administration systems.
The opportunity provides direct exposure to current data tools and platforms, with strong scope to deepen technical skills while contributing to core business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle the daily operation of binder management and contract programming activities.
- Check underwriting, billing, and claims bordereaux for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Assist with connecting the policy administration system to the bordereaux management platform for underwriting and claims workflows.
- Prepare basic reporting for delegated underwriting authority business and fronting arrangements.
- Support underwriters in running efficient policy administration processes.
- Coordinate with the finance team on processing deliverables related to delegated authority business.
- Partner with IT on reporting and data management initiatives tied to delegated authority operations.
- Apply creative thinking, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills in day-to-day work.
- Take part in business analysis, project, and management meetings, including preparing topics and presenting information professionally.
- Build personal development plans and show progress against agreed goals.
- Adapt positively to change and contribute as a constructive change agent.
- Develop trusted working relationships across teams and functions.

Candidate Profile
You are analytically strong and comfortable working with both data and systems. You likely have experience with tools such as SQL, Python, Snowflake, Power BI, and advanced Excel, and you enjoy automating manual work and improving data processes.
You are adaptable, inquisitive, and able to learn new technologies quickly in a fast-moving environment. You communicate clearly, solve problems effectively, and work well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders while taking responsibility for delivering high-quality, data-focused solutions.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A university degree in Commerce, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred, with preference for technology-related disciplines.
- Two to three years of data analysis experience is preferred, though it is not mandatory.
- Experience in the insurance sector is considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical ability.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, and Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI.
- Advanced-level Excel proficiency.
- Comfort learning and using new software and technology.
- Exposure to bordereaux reporting for a reinsurer or delegated underwriting authority business is an asset.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- French-English bilingual ability is preferred but not required.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary for this role is between 60,000 and 70,000. Final compensation may vary depending on location, market conditions, experience, and relevant skills. Offers for experienced professionals are generally positioned near the midpoint of the range, while candidates newer to the role may begin below the midpoint with room to grow over time.
Work Model
This is a hybrid position. You should expect to divide your time between the office and remote work, with flexibility based on the needs of the role and business. The current office is located in downtown Toronto. If you are based in a province where the company does not yet have an office, you will remain remote until an office is established there.
