Design Engineer

Role Overview

This position is for a Design Engineer with Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. in Singapore. The role focuses on detailed design work for viaduct-related structures, with responsibilities spanning drafting, calculations, documentation, and coordination with the wider engineering team.

Key Duties

• Prepare viaduct layout designs and tendon detailing.
• Produce construction design drawings for viaduct structures and submit them for approval.
• Create bar bending schedules (BBS).
• Update drawings based on client feedback, instructions, and review comments.
• Share progress updates and performance status with the Senior Engineer and Design Manager.
• Track the design programme closely and keep the schedule current.

Requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required.
• At least 2 years of experience in design or construction work involving bridges, viaducts, roads, or highways.
• Prior exposure to LTA projects such as roads, MRT, or viaduct works will be considered an advantage.
• Strong technical understanding of concrete materials and structural design principles is necessary.
• Should be familiar with proposals for structural systems.
• Hands-on experience with structural analysis tools such as MIDAS, SAP, and STAAD is expected.
• Must be highly proficient in AutoCAD.
• Should demonstrate a positive work attitude and respect for timelines.
• Must be able to work independently, think analytically, and communicate well with others.
• Good interpersonal ability is important.
• Experience on previous LTA projects, especially NSC, will be an added advantage.
