In this position, you will support a varied group of job seekers and collaborate with employer networks to create sustainable employment outcomes. The work focuses on ongoing coaching, structured support, and building long-term relationships with employers and other stakeholders to open up job opportunities.
You will also carry out initial customer assessments, develop detailed action plans, and facilitate group learning sessions. The role suits someone who is motivated by improving customer experience, consistently achieving KPIs, and building strong relationships with a resilient, solutions-focused approach.
Experience in sales, administration, retail, call centres, or customer service will be particularly useful. A strong interest in helping people find work and creating meaningful pathways into employment is essential.
Key responsibilities
The role includes helping job seekers plan, secure, and retain suitable employment through personalised coaching and support. It also involves developing and maintaining productive relationships with employers and relevant stakeholders to generate opportunities for candidates.
You will assess customers at the outset, prepare action plans, and run group-based learning activities. Maintaining accurate case notes, promoting candidates to employers, and supporting local businesses with effective employment solutions are all central to the role.
You must also be prepared to travel within your region as part of the job.
Essential criteria
Applicants need to be able to deliver practical, skills-based training that helps people build employability. They should also be capable of supporting job seekers to achieve their goals and placing them into suitable employment.
Strong administration skills are required, including the ability to keep detailed and accurate case records. A sound understanding of the local labour market and experience connecting clients with nearby job opportunities are important.
Excellent communication skills are needed to market job seekers to employers and to identify future opportunities. Candidates must be willing to complete background screening, including an NDIS Workers Check and a Working With Children Check if not already held.
Knowledge of child safe standards and mandatory reporting obligations is required. Experience in the disability services sector is highly regarded. A current driver’s licence with at least P2 status is also essential.
Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent experience in Employment Services, Training, Rehabilitation, Community Services, or a similar field, are strongly preferred.
Culture and benefits
The organisation describes itself as values-led, with the people it supports placed at the centre of its work. It offers an inclusive and progressive environment, with opportunities to keep learning and growing through coaching, mentoring, and leadership development.
Benefits include a competitive salary package, access to Fitness Passport, employee discounts, a rewards and recognition program, flexible work arrangements including RDOs, and the ability to increase take-home pay through not-for-profit salary packaging.
The employer welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, ages, and genders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people with disability. It is also committed to child safety, wellbeing, and inclusion, and all successful candidates will be subject to probity and pre-employment checks. Vaccination against infectious diseases is strongly encouraged.
