Role overview
Ma’aden Barrick Second Company is hiring an on-site Finance Assistant for its MBC2 operations in Mahd adh Dhahab, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Key responsibilities
- Handle monthly payroll processing and make sure it aligns with company policies and Saudi labour rules.
- Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice checks, three-way purchase order matching, and vendor payments.
- Review supplier accounts and work through invoice mismatches with vendors and internal teams.
- Keep financial documentation accurate and up to date across payroll, payables, petty cash, and related records.
- Prepare bank transfer files and support accurate, on-time payments.
- Support month-end close tasks, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting.
- Track exploration spend, drilling expenses, and contractor invoices to support cost accuracy and control.
- Build monthly cost reports, analyse budget variances, and assist with forecasting and budgeting.
- Support JV cash calls, financial reporting, and audit-related needs.
- Work in line with IFRS, internal controls, company procedures, and audit expectations.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related subject.
- Partially or fully completed professional accounting certification is considered an advantage.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting standards.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, payroll, accounts payable, or finance operations.
- Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Pronto, or similar systems.
- Working knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, general ledger, and month-end processes.
- Experience in mining, exploration, construction, or industrial settings is preferred.
- Strong analytical and numerical ability with careful attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, juggle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organisation skills and a clear commitment to confidentiality.
- English fluency is required; Arabic is an added advantage.
