As the organization expands its U.S. headquarters in Irvine and strengthens its worldwide operating structure, it is looking for a Global Logistics Lead to improve the efficient, compliant movement of materials and finished products while helping shape the company’s long-term logistics capabilities.

Role overview

This position heads the global logistics function for Kardion. The role is responsible for ensuring smooth, compliant movement of goods across innovation pipelines, clinical programs, and commercial launch activities. It also plays a key part in building out the logistics network, including transportation, warehousing, distribution centers, and third-party logistics partnerships.

The role works closely with teams across Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, R&D, Finance, and other functions to support operational priorities and business execution.

Responsibilities

  • Own global logistics sourcing efforts and lead important negotiations with transportation and 3PL partners.
  • Set and implement plans to strengthen the logistics network, including transportation management, distribution operations, and 3PL performance.
  • Improve internal and international operating structures so supply chain programs run smoothly end to end.
  • Replace manual workflows with digital processes to improve data access, analysis, and decision-making.
  • Monitor demand and inventory stability closely to support on-time delivery and reduce stockout risk.
  • Identify logistics-related risks, assess their business impact, and put mitigation plans in place.
  • Manage the 3PL approach and operational results for the EMEA region.
  • Create management dashboards and metrics that track logistics KPI achievement.
  • Develop strong internal and external relationships through effective communication and negotiation.
  • Apply logistics and operational best practices in line with SOPs, policies, and compliance expectations; periodically create and review operating documents.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement that supports the company mission, quality policy, quality system, and applicable regulations.
  • Carry out additional related duties as needed.
  • Support ERP, MRP, and master data projects that improve logistics, inventory, and distribution accuracy.
  • Provide recurring reporting on logistics KPIs, 3PL performance, freight cost, and risk exposure.
  • Contribute to S&OP activities and broader company strategic and imperative goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, along with 5–8 years in logistics or supply chain operations.
  • Background in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or similar sector, including familiarity with FDA and TÜV requirements for medical devices; experience with Class III devices is a plus.
  • Strong grasp of Incoterms, customs rules, international export regulations, trade compliance, and distribution center/warehouse design, including oversight of external logistics providers.
  • Practical experience implementing logistics modules in an ERP system, including Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Exposure to hazardous materials handling and related distribution processes is preferred.
  • Proven ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to operate independently at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools and solid computer literacy.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 20 lbs occasionally.

Compensation and benefits

The expected base pay for this role is USD 120,000 to 140,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, skills, and location.

Kardion provides a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.
