Role overview

This position focuses on creating a welcoming in-store experience while also helping maintain a safe and orderly environment. The role supports customer service, helps deter theft and other improper activity, and assists management with reducing shrink.

Customer experience

• Welcome shoppers and patients, offer help with products and services, and resolve questions or concerns to support a positive visit.
• Demonstrate strong service habits and help reinforce the company’s customer-care standards across the team, including courtesy, eye contact, proactive assistance, and making sure needs are fully addressed.

Operations and asset protection

• Stay visible near the store’s exit area at the front of the location throughout the shift.
• Watch for and report issues such as vandalism, robbery, fire, shoplifting, pickpocketing, solicitation, loitering, and violent conduct.
• Share suspicious behavior or individuals with management and Loss Prevention.
• Help discourage criminal or unsafe activity and support company procedures that reduce shrink and protect assets.
• Follow state and local rules for regulated items such as alcohol and tobacco.
• Respond to EAS entry and exit alarms, investigate politely, and work with the customer when checking the source of the alarm.
• Check receipts when needed; if an item appears unpaid for and no receipt is available, ask the customer or employee to complete payment and inform management of the situation.
• Carry out employee bag checks as staff leave through the front door.
• Monitor the area behind the front registers as directed and report anything unusual to management and Loss Prevention.
• Guide customers requesting refunds to the Cosmetic department.
• Complete assigned special projects and other tasks as needed.

Training and development

• Attend required training sessions and finish assigned PPL modules when requested by a manager or corporate.

Compensation

Hourly pay range: $15 to $17.50.
