Role Overview
Buildlabs Custom Homes is a premium residential builder that creates custom homes through a mix of thoughtful design, accurate execution, and close teamwork. The company is looking for an Interior Designer / Project Manager who can steer the interior design process and also oversee delivery from concept all the way to installation.
This position suits someone who can confidently combine design judgment with project coordination so that each job is completed on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard. The role is tied directly to two ongoing luxury residential projects in Spicewood, Texas.
The position is full time, on site, and follows a 5-day-per-week schedule in the Lakeway area near Austin, Texas. The stated compensation is $95,000 per year, with final pay depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Create and present interior design directions, including finishes and material choices.
- Support clients through the full range of design decisions for luxury residential homes.
- Track schedules, budgets, and purchasing timelines across projects.
- Work closely with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors to keep work moving smoothly.
- Handle FF&E sourcing, tracking, and installation coordination.
- Visit job sites to confirm that the design is being carried out as intended.
- Keep communication clear, timely, and proactive with clients as well as internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in upscale residential interior design.
- A strong portfolio showcasing luxury residential projects; submission is required to be considered.
- Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and/or Adobe Suite.
- Proven ability to manage several projects at the same time.
- Solid understanding of construction workflows and processes.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Capacity to stay on top of deadlines and prioritize effectively.
- Willingness to put in additional hours when project needs require it.
- High level of accountability and strong attention to detail.
- A professional, collaborative, and practical approach to problem-solving.
- Preferred: a degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Preferred: experience with custom home builders or design-build companies.
- Preferred: familiarity with Procore.
