Role Overview
EPS Group is hiring a Junior Quantity Surveyor for work in the Drogheda/Dundalk area. In this position, you will support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager with the commercial administration of multiple EPS projects.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day work will include supporting procurement, cost control, valuations, subcontract administration, and contract reporting across assigned projects.
- Put together subcontract procurement packs.
- Estimate, compare, and review tender and contract costs.
- Take off quantities from bills of quantities and prepare/check valuations, including remeasurement where needed.
- Track variations, prepare materials order schedules, and maintain project documentation.
- Agree interim payments as well as interim and final accounts.
- Apply a solid understanding of contractual commitments.
- Maintain and administer contract records.
- Handle claims administration.
- Carry out measurements and valuations for both employers and subcontractors.
- Prepare monthly progress applications and produce monthly reports on the financial position of contracts.
- Set up subcontract agreements, including the relevant terms and conditions, and monitor them through the life of the subcontract.
Experience and Skill Requirements
The role requires at least 1 year of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor. Applicants must be fully qualified with a BSc Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification. Strong written and spoken English is essential, along with good computer literacy and IT capability. You should also be comfortable communicating effectively with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors across different parts of the business. Previous exposure to cost management and subcontractor management on civil engineering and building projects is important.
