Role Overview
This temporary Labour Scheduler role is based in Winchester, Ontario, and runs from July 2026 through August 14, 2027. The position supports production planning by building labour schedules, managing time-off requests, maintaining accurate workforce data, and helping ensure payroll and scheduling processes align with the site’s collective agreement and internal procedures.

Key Duties
- Create and update weekly labour schedules based on production needs, seniority rules, job postings, and the collective agreement.
- Join weekly planning discussions with managers, production planners, and supervisors to confirm labour needs for upcoming production.
- Share schedules with employees, respond to questions, and reach out to laid-off and on-call workers when coverage is needed.
- Handle scheduling adjustments, including timetable changes, backup coverage for absences, vacation approvals within posting limits, and overtime allocation under the collective agreement.
- Coordinate with Human Resources and site supervisors on scheduling-related matters.
- Ensure every shift is staffed, including making overtime calls according to the collective agreement procedures.
- Oversee overtime banking and manage the annual vacation selection and booking process.
- Generate reports such as timekeeping history from KRONOS and weekly labour summaries covering headcount, ratios, and overfill rates by line and shift.
- Complete payroll-related administrative paperwork and supporting documentation.
- Address employee and union concerns related to schedules and hourly payroll.
Candidate Profile
- College diploma in a relevant area such as Business or Operations Management.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in labour planning or production planning within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with solid interpersonal ability.
- Good planning and organizational capability.
- Comfort working independently and meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with employees and management.
- Proficiency with common office tools, including Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Access.
Compensation and Benefits
The contract package includes a competitive base salary, a 10% retention bonus paid at the end of the assignment, 8% vacation pay, and health and dental coverage from day one. Learning and development support is also provided, along with the possibility of future permanent full-time opportunities.

The base salary range for this role is CAD 62,500 to CAD 78,100+ annually. Final pay will depend on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
