Role overview
This position focuses on end-to-end inventory and supply chain control at the plant level, with additional oversight of outsourced processing plant (OSP) operations. The role is based in Bengaluru and requires hands-on coordination across internal teams, vendors, transporters, warehouse staff, and external sites to keep materials and stock levels stable.
Inventory management
- Forecast and maintain stock availability for raw materials across plants and all SKUs.
- Run regular inventory planning exercises and execute planning cycles on schedule.
- Work with domestic vendors and transport partners to plan dispatches and monitor delivery progress.
- Raise stock transfer orders between plants to support required inventory cover.
- Monitor material losses, damage, and other supply-chain-related unplanned expenses.
- Ensure material accounting is handled accurately using FIFO practices.
- Issue purchase orders for plant-related spending.
- Oversee warehouse activities and guide warehouse personnel.
OSP operations management
- Track and manage supply chain activity at external OSP facilities.
- Ensure stock is available at the OSP location at all times.
- Visit OSP sites regularly for checks, audits, and operational supervision.
Qualifications and experience
A B.E. or B.Tech degree is required. A postgraduate qualification in supply chain or operations will be considered an added advantage. The role calls for 7 to 10 years of experience in plant-level operations within manufacturing environments. Working knowledge of SAP or another ERP platform is essential.
