Role overview
A semiconductor business focused on sensing technology is hiring a Manufacturing Operations Manager in Reutlingen, Germany. The role sits close to the VP of Operations and is responsible for guiding manufacturing performance, improving end-to-end operations, and helping shape the company’s operational direction.
The position offers the chance to lead teams across several locations and contribute directly to international growth, supply chain performance, and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Set the operational direction for manufacturing, with a focus on faster product ramp-up, lower costs, stronger delivery performance, and better overall efficiency.
- Oversee daily manufacturing activity across internal and outsourced operations to meet demand and achieve targets for delivery, yield, and productivity.
- Lead the Operations Engineering function and work closely with R&D on product and process enhancement.
- Manage major initiatives such as process improvements, product transfers, qualifications, equipment lifecycle planning, and scale-up into mass production.
- Lead the Sales & Operations Planning process to build and refine a reliable global demand and supply plan aligned with product marketing forecasts.
- Work across sales, marketing, planning, engineering, quality, procurement, and legal to execute manufacturing plans that support long-term business growth.
- Coach and develop team members while promoting a high-performance culture across sites in Germany and the Netherlands.
What the employer is looking for
- A master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Hands-on background in MEMS, ASICs, and fabless manufacturing models.
- A strong record of improving yield, streamlining processes, and managing external manufacturing partners.
- Deep technical knowledge of MEMS and ASIC process technologies, environmental sensors, device physics, and semiconductor manufacturing steps including packaging, assembly, and testing.
- Experience leading and motivating multi-site teams across Germany and the Netherlands.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and German.
- Capability to coordinate teams across Karlsruhe, Reutlingen, and Eindhoven.
