Role Overview
This full-time Manufacturing Operator position is based on site in Taupo, Waikato, New Zealand. In this role, you will run and observe production equipment, follow standard operating procedures, and help maintain reliable product quality across the manufacturing process. You will also carry out machine setups, complete routine checks, do basic upkeep, and keep production records accurate.
The work is carried out in clean room or other controlled settings, so safe handling of raw materials and finished goods is essential. You will be expected to follow health, safety, and environmental requirements closely, work well with supervisors and team members, and contribute to production goals and ongoing improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate production machinery and keep a close watch on performance during manufacturing runs.
- Set up equipment correctly before production starts and make adjustments as needed.
- Carry out regular inspections and simple maintenance tasks to support smooth operation.
- Record production information accurately and maintain clear documentation.
- Work within clean room or controlled environments while handling materials safely.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
- Support quality consistency throughout the manufacturing process.
- Coordinate with colleagues and supervisors to help achieve output targets.
- Take part in continuous improvement activities where required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Practical ability to run and monitor production equipment, including machine operation and machining tasks.
- Prior experience with quality control and maintaining product standards.
- Clear communication skills for working with coworkers, supervisors, and support teams.
- Strong attention to detail, basic mechanical understanding, and the ability to follow written instructions and safety rules.
- Experience in manufacturing, processing, or other industrial environments is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on site in Taupo and do shift work if needed.
- Secondary school education or an equivalent qualification; trade or technical training in manufacturing or engineering is a plus.
