Meat Cutter

About the Role

This full-time meat cutter position is based at the Stratford Sobeys store in Stratford, Ontario. The role sits within Store Careers and the Retail - Meat category. It is a customer-facing, hands-on position focused on preparing meat products, maintaining department standards, and supporting an engaging shopping experience.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver courteous, professional service to shoppers and help meet their needs.
• Prepare meat products for sale and display.
• Set up and merchandise the meat section when required.
• Keep the meat department clean, organized, and operational.
• Receive incoming meat orders.
• Handle special customer requests for meat products.
• Take part in ongoing learning and professional growth.
• Follow company meat standards and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations.
• Comply with all relevant company policies and procedures.
• Carry out administrative tasks as needed.
• Train new team members and clerks on technical meat department tasks.
• Support the Meat Manager, Clerk Department Second Meat, where applicable.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong understanding of meat department operations and related skills.
• Ability to work on your own in a fast-moving environment.
• High school diploma.
• At least 12 months of relevant experience.

Additional Information

This opportunity is with an independently owned and operated franchise corporation licensed to use the FreshCo trademark by Sobeys Capital Incorporated. If hired, the employee will work for the franchisee, not Sobeys or its affiliates.

Pay and Hiring Notes

The pay range for this role is CAD 21.00 to CAD 25.00 per hour. Final compensation may depend on work location, experience, skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
