Role overview
Throne Solutions is hiring a Network Operations Center Engineer to strengthen its NOC team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on keeping enterprise networks stable, available, and performing well by delivering advanced support, resolving difficult infrastructure issues, and helping the team meet SLA targets.
What you will do
- Track and administer network infrastructure through network monitoring platforms to keep uptime and availability at the highest possible level.
- Investigate and resolve complex Level 2 and Level 3 issues across LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, internet, and data center environments.
- Fix routing, switching, and WAN connectivity faults within agreed SLA timeframes.
- Take ownership of escalations from Level 1 teams and perform detailed root cause analysis for repeated incidents.
- Set up, support, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, VPN gateways, and wireless systems.
- Carry out approved change requests, firmware updates, security patching, and planned maintenance tasks.
- Review network performance, bandwidth usage, latency, and device condition, then apply optimization actions when needed.
- Work with vendors, internet service providers, and internal teams to close out complex infrastructure problems.
- Contribute to performance tuning, capacity planning, and ongoing service improvement efforts.
- Keep operational documentation current, including procedures, asset records, incident logs, configuration backups, and topology diagrams.
- Join scheduled maintenance activity and infrastructure upgrades while limiting business impact.
- Follow ITIL-aligned processes for Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management.
- Share technical knowledge and support junior NOC engineers when needed.
- Work in a 24x7 shift model and provide on-call support as required.
What we are looking for
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years of practical experience in a Network Operations Center or enterprise network support setting.
- Hands-on exposure to medium or large enterprise Cisco network environments.
- Strong analytical ability and a structured approach to troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of enterprise network design and operational practices.
- Capability to handle several urgent incidents at the same time.
- Strong writing and reporting skills for documentation and incident handling.
- Good verbal communication and teamwork skills.
- A customer-first mindset with a focus on service quality.
- Readiness to work rotating shifts and remain available for on-call duties.
Technical environment
The role involves working with Cisco routing and switching, LAN/WAN/WLAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, VPNs, TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, HSRP/VRRP, NAT, ACLs, QoS, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, Cisco ISR and ASR routers, Cisco wireless LAN controllers, and Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls. Common monitoring and support tools include SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco Prime, ManageEngine OpManager, Nagios, Zabbix, Wireshark, SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow, ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy.
Certifications
Preferred credentials include CCNP Enterprise, Cisco SD-WAN Certification, and Cisco CyberOps. CCNA and ITIL Foundation are also relevant for this position.
Work schedule and support expectations
This is a shift-based NOC role with 24x7 coverage. The engineer must also be prepared to provide on-call support when required.
