Office Designer

Role Overview

Patterson Companies is looking for an Office Designer to help shape the environments where dental and medical care takes place. In this role, you will use Autodesk Revit and real-time rendering tools to develop practical, attractive layouts for healthcare offices. You will work closely with customers, architects, and internal teams to turn project requirements into detailed plans, 3D visualizations, and construction drawings that support efficient operations and a polished final design.

This position combines technical drafting and spatial planning with creativity and project coordination. It is well suited to someone who can juggle several assignments at once while helping healthcare practices achieve spaces that function well and look modern.

Essential Functions

• Create 3D renderings and walkthroughs of potential dental office layouts using Autodesk Revit and real-time rendering software for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare mechanical construction drawings for Patterson equipment for architect review and inclusion in permit packages.
• Deliver design layouts for more than five projects each week.
• Revise project designs multiple times based on input from customers, architects, and internal team members.
• Build design recommendations around the client’s operational and spatial needs.
• Work with other designers to resolve software and design-related issues.
• Take on additional tasks as assigned.

Communication

• Keep the right people informed about project status so they understand progress, resource use, and whether timelines and goals are being met.
• Present findings and reports clearly to peers and maintain a strong customer-service orientation.

Problem Solving

• Evaluate project requirements, existing space conditions, and equipment needs to quickly develop workable design solutions.
• Manage several design challenges at the same time.

Additional Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• A two-year or four-year degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, or a closely related field is preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of experience using Autodesk Revit.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience with space planning in healthcare environments, especially dental, medical, or veterinary settings.
• Working knowledge of basic construction documents and sheet sets.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid customer service skills and sound decision-making ability.

Physical Requirements

This role is primarily office-based and involves frequent use of a computer and other office equipment throughout the workday. You may occasionally need to lift or move packages weighing up to 10 pounds, such as office supplies or equipment. The job also requires the ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in writing, as well as read and interpret electronic and printed materials.

Work Environment

The position is located in an office setting with desks in assigned work areas and meeting or collaboration spaces throughout the building. The workplace primarily includes desks, chairs, computers, and other equipment used in professional services.

Compensation

The expected pay range for this position is $25.72 to $31.49 per hour. The final offer will depend on factors such as location, experience, and skill set.
