What you will do

You will contribute within a multidisciplinary team to deliver engineering project objectives, define the technical and business needs for assigned work, and coordinate the people and tasks required to meet program goals. The work may involve technical design packages, production and sustainment queries, and improvement projects related to new product introduction, cost reduction, producibility, reliability, and weight reduction.

Key responsibilities

Your work will include leading project execution across technical, schedule, and resource dimensions, while aligning delivery with program milestones and compliance requirements.

• Coordinate technical and planning requirements for projects and guide cross-functional teams made up of manufacturing, quality, engineering, and purchasing personnel.
• Handle work breakdown structure cost account management, integrated planning and scheduling, earned value tracking, risk management, and continuous improvement activities.
• Bring multidisciplinary teams together and ensure project tasks and deliverables are completed according to applicable processes, procedures, and regulations.
• Lead global teams in defining component-level and system-level technical solutions.
• Organize complex multidisciplinary work involving design, analysis, and hardware procurement while ensuring requirements compliance.
• Oversee subcontractors or subcontracted LiftSystem components and the delivery of hardware and subsystem equipment as directed by the IPTL.
• Prepare and share technical and business updates for assigned projects.
• Communicate complex aero-mechanical project information clearly to program stakeholders.

Requirements

The role calls for an engineering degree and experience in design and/or manufacturing engineering, along with the ability to qualify for security clearance as a U.S. citizen.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 2 years of experience in design and/or manufacturing engineering; or
• Master’s degree in Engineering with 0+ years of experience in design and/or manufacturing engineering; or
• PhD in Engineering with 0+ years of experience in design and/or manufacturing engineering.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Preferred qualifications

• Background knowledge of turbomachinery, gas turbine engines, and mechanical systems.
• Training in project management, requirements management, systems engineering, or structured verification methods.
• Familiarity with process management approaches such as APQP and manufacturing processes such as Fixed Process Approval and FAIR.
• PMP certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
