Role Overview
This is an opportunity for a polished and approachable Receptionist to join a busy office in Skipton. The successful candidate will be the first person clients, visitors, and callers meet, so the role is central to creating a welcoming and professional impression of the business while also providing broader administrative assistance to the team.
The position suits someone who is highly organised, communicates well, and can handle a busy and varied workload with confidence and efficiency.
Working Hours and Location
Location: Skipton, England, United Kingdom
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Total hours: 37.5 per week
Key Duties
- Handle incoming calls quickly, courteously, and professionally, then direct or process them as needed.
- Take messages carefully and pass them on clearly so communication across the firm remains smooth.
- Support Directors and other team members with telephone-related tasks when required.
- Greet clients and visitors in a warm and professional way to ensure a strong first impression.
- Keep the reception space organised, presentable, and tidy at all times.
- Represent the firm’s standards, image, and focus on high-quality client service.
- Enter and update time-recording details accurately.
- Perform clerical and administrative work to help the office run efficiently.
- Take on further administrative tasks and projects as reasonably requested.
Experience and Skills Needed
- Previous experience in reception, customer service, or an administrative position would be beneficial.
- A strong and professional telephone manner, along with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Confidence and friendliness when interacting with clients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Good planning and organisational ability, with the capacity to manage several priorities at once.
- Accuracy and attention to detail when handling records and administrative work.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office and standard office systems.
- A dependable, self-starting approach, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- A clear commitment to excellent client service and a professional workplace environment.
