Role overview

The Senior Manager – Category Operations will own and expand day-to-day execution for the HSC business across multiple categories, including Outstation FTL and Intracity vehicle segments such as 9ft, 10ft, 14ft, and 17ft, covering Delhi and Kolkata. The role calls for strong operational leadership, the ability to manage people and performance, comfort with data, and a deep understanding of ground-level realities in a marketplace environment.

Key responsibilities

• Run daily operations across business lines with strong execution discipline.
• Forecast demand, plan supply accordingly, and maintain quality and operating standards.
• Coordinate and direct city teams to ensure effective on-ground execution.
• Implement SOPs and support GTM rollouts for new categories and process changes.
• Spot operational gaps and work with Product, Analytics, and central teams to improve processes.
• Maintain high standards for quality, turnaround time, and customer experience.
• Support category and geography expansion by working closely with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Manage the P&L for assigned categories along with other business owners.
• Set strategic goals and drive execution against them.
• Monitor pricing, competition, and service quality to shape short- to medium-term plans for growth.
• Understand local market nuances, routes, and micro-market differences to fine-tune strategy.
• Handle escalations with discipline, identify recurring issues, and drive durable fixes.
• Put governance mechanisms in place for city-level operations.
• Build a clear operational vision and translate it into a practical roadmap.
• Lead multi-city teams through planning, communication, and performance management.

Required skills and experience

• Strong hands-on mindset with a willingness to get into the details and resolve real operational issues.
• Proven experience managing teams, including Assistant Managers and junior team members.
• Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to influence both leadership and field teams.
• Comfort using data and ground insights to make decisions.
• Ability to create SOPs and processes that improve operational consistency.
• Exposure to logistics, mobility, supply chain, or marketplace operations is preferred.
• Background in category management with both strategic and execution responsibilities is an advantage.
• Ability to work across functions and coordinate multiple stakeholders.

Additional information

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. The role requires leadership across Delhi and Kolkata city operations.
